Biomechanics Laboratory

Biomechanics Laboratory

Biomechanics is one of the basic sciences relating to the movements of human body. It is related to various established disciplines including anatomy, physics, mechanics, medicine, computer sciences, engineering, and many others. Human bodies are the products of the nature. Human movements thus are restricted and affected by the laws of the nature. Sports Biomechanics is a well developed discipline composed of biological and mechanical theories. The application of biomechanics is to improve human performances and human motor behaviors, including the athletic sports and common movements for daily lives. Based on the strong theories of sports sciences, the lab offers the resources to simulate the human movements with computers, describe the mechanical structures of human bodies, and perform the motion analyses from the mechanical measures. We manipulate the 2D-3D real time image capture machine and run the data calculation analyses to build up the virtual animation. The force platform is also used to analyze the balance of human body and the ground reaction force.
